President: Maya Schechter
I’m Maya, Sigma Delt’s President for the 2013 year. I’m originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and at Dartmouth am majoring in Geography, modified with Government, and minoring in Sustainability. The women of Sigma Delt continually impress and motivate me with their strength, intelligence and integrity, and I’m honored to serve such a wonderful, powerful sisterhood.
Standards and Development Chair: Hannah Williams
I’m Hannah, majoring in Government, but I am much more excited about my minor in Digital Arts. I’m from Evergreen Colorado and am happy that New Hampshire has some of the same outdoors-y activities as home. This year I am the Standards and Development Chair and am looking forward to finding further sustainable ways to improve the house and tailor our house to what the sisterhood itself wants. My favorite thing about being a part of Sigma Delt is being in the company of people willing to engage in more than just small talk and school talk. I would not be the person I am today without the sisters in this house pushing me and supporting me.
Treasurer: Aislinn McLaughlin
I’m Aislinn and I’m majoring in Environmental Studies. I hail from O Little Town of Bethlehem, Connecticut and I’m so excited to work with everyone as Treasurer of Sigma Delt this year. I love that Sigma Delt has allowed me to connect with so many talented and inspirational women on campus. Sigma Delt has become one of the most important facets of my life at Dartmouth and I have my sisters to thank for that. I love that it’s a place I can come home to.
Philanthropy Chair: Molly Thornton
Hi! I’m Molly Thornton, a proud member of the Dartmouth Class of 2014 and Sigma Delta Sorority, hailing from Monrovia, California. As a geography major and sociology minor with an interest in inequality and social justice, I’m excited to use my academic interests for the betterment of the sisterhood by serving as Sigma Delt’s Philanthropy Chair this coming year. I am so honored to be a member of such an inspiring group of women that challenges me each and every day to grow and explore in ways I never imagined.
Scholarship Chair: Stephanie Barnhart
I’m Stephanie, majoring in English with a minor in Studio Arts. I’m from Palm Beach, Florida and for me, finding Sigma Delt made my Dartmouth experience much more meaningful and fulfilling. I found a place where I know the women always have my back and will stand up for me. But more importantly, I’ve found amazing friends in Sigma Delt who have helped me at my worst and encouraged me to just keep going. The women who surround me aren’t afraid to have the tough conversations, to speak their mind, and for that I’m extremely thankful. These are just some of the reasons I’m so excited to be Scholarship Chair for the 2013-14 school year.
Programming Chair: Alison Leung
Hi! My name is Alison, and I’m a Studio Art major and a Chinese minor here at Dartmouth. I’m a southern girl at heart, originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Coming to Dartmouth has been such a positive experience, and Sigma Delt has played a huge part in that. Sigma Delt has taught me to always be confident in myself and in my ideas, and I am so proud to be a part of such a supportive and goofy and all around inspiring community of women.
Alumnae Chair: Olivia Evans
I’m Olivia, majoring in Romance Languages and minoring in International Studies. Originally from San Francisco, I’m so happy to have come to Dartmouth and found a second home here at Sigma Delt. I’ve loved being in the house and getting to know a broad group of incredibly unique, passionate, and dynamic girls among which I can call my very best friends. I’m particularly excited to be this year’s Alumnae Chair where I hope to meet yet another group of dynamic and inspiring women!
Sisterhood Chair: Seanie Civale
I’m Seanie and I’m an English major (Creative Writing concentration) and Education minor from Los Angeles, California. Sigma Delt has given me some of my best friends, funniest memories, and most meaningful moments at Dartmouth. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to such a special house as Sisterhood Chair!
Social Chair: Pallavi Kuppa-Apte
I’m Pallavi, a Government and Economics double major from outside of Philadelphia. Being in Sigma Delt is one of the best things to happen to me at Dartmouth! One of my favorite things about the women I’ve met in Sigma Delt is how involved they are across campus and how each one has exceptional passions and talents. I also love that Sigma Delts know how to have fun - and I’m so excited to be planning our social events as one of this year’s Social Chairs!
Social Chair: Meredith Sweeney
Hi, I’m Meredith, at Dartmouth I major in Government and minor in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. I am from Hinsdale IL a suburb just outside of Chicago. I’ve loved getting to know the powerful, dynamic, and intelligent sisters that make Sigma Delt such a unique and welcoming place on campus. As one of Sigma Delt’s social Chairs this year I am excited to work with Pallavi to come up with entertaining new social events that foster friendship between our sisters and other Greek community members.
Panhellenic Council Representative: Victoria Fernandez
I’m Victoria, double majoring in History and Hispanic Studies. I was born in Venezuela but I’ve lived in Miami, FL for the majority of my life. I look forward to working with our Exec board and Panhellenic Council this coming year as the SD Panhellenic Representative. The thing I love most about SD is always being able to find inspiration, laughter, and support from the other girls in this house.
(The Lovely) New Member Welcomers: Anna Harty, Kit Dauten, and Meg Heisler
Hi! I’m Anna. I’m majoring in Government and minoring in Public Policy. I grew up in Severna Park, MD and came to Dartmouth excited to meet new people and form close friendships. Sigma Delt is a place that fosters fun, unexpected, and organic relationships; it is a support system on what can be a very stressful campus. Sigma Delt allows me to feel comfortable while also pushing me to grow.
Hi!! My name is Kit and I’m from just north of Chicago. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in education. Sigma Delt has been such a wonderful part of my Dartmouth career and has introduced me to some of the most inspiring, creative, fun and intelligent women on this campus. I absolutely love having a space I can call my own and sharing it with girls I can call my best friends and sisters. I am so excited to be a pledgucator and have the opportunity to really get to know the newest amazing members of our house.
Hello! I’m Meg, a geography major from Montclair, New Jersey. I love Sigma Delt because it is such a welcoming and encouraging space-capable of facilitating individual, interpersonal, and community growth, as well as general weirdness. This fall, I look forward to welcoming our new pledgetables as an FGM, alongside Kit and Anna!
